NSRF Frosty 5K & Icy 5 Mile : Forest Park, Queens
Registration is not yet open for this NYC Parks Winter Series stop. The event is scheduled for January 9, 2027, in Forest Park, Queens on Munsee Lenape/Canarsie lands.
The event offers two measured road race options:
- Frosty 5K
- Icy 5 Mile
Course format is out-and-back: the 5K has an initial 0.3 mile out-and-back segment plus one full out-and-back loop; the 5 Mile is two out-and-back loops. The course is certified. Participants on multiple-loop distances are required to run through the finish-line mats on each loop for accurate split times and synced finish photos.
Amenities listed include an informal bag check area, restrooms a few minutes' walk from the start and finish, hydration at the finish, and event refreshments provided by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. Event gear includes a FROST-TEE. A free Kiddie Dash is scheduled before the main race. Live online, email, and text results will be available, with same-day finish-line photos and video.
A virtual participation option allows entrants to log a time during the event window and upload up to five photos. Race items for virtual entrants begin shipping on the event start day. Proceeds benefit the Never Stop Running Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting athletic events and athlete development. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
