About the race
NSRF Frosty 5K & Icy 5 Mile is the second stop of the NYC Parks Winter Series, scheduled for January 9, 2027, in Forest Park, Queens (Woodhaven Blvd. and Forest Park Dr., Woodhaven, NY 11421). The event offers both in-person and virtual participation options.

The courses use out-and-back loops: the 5K begins with a 0.3-mile segment followed by one out-and-back, and the 5 Miler consists of two out-and-back loops. Non-5K participants must run through the finish-line timing mats on each loop for accurate split and finish photos. A certified course exists for the event.
Amenities include a participant Frost-Tee, hydration at the finish, and refreshments provided by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. There is an informal bag-check area and restrooms within a short walk of the start and finish. Bibs can be mailed for a $10 fee if registration occurs at least ten days before the event; in-person bib pickup is also offered. Virtual participants may log a time during the event week, upload up to five photos, and receive mailed race items.
Age-group recognition is given for top finishers overall and in multiple age categories, and proceeds benefit the Never Stop Running Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
