Event overview
The Forest Park Frosty races are part of the NYC Parks Winter Series and take place on January 10, 2026, in Forest Park, Queens (Woodhaven Blvd. and Forest Park Dr., Woodhaven, NY 11421). The event offers in-person and virtual options with these distances:

A free Kiddie Dash is held before the main races. Registered participants receive a race shirt (Frost-tee) and refreshments supplied by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. Proceeds benefit the Never Stop Running Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Course, awards and logistics
The certified courses are out-and-back formats: the 5K uses a short initial out-and-back segment plus one full out-and-back loop; the 5 Mile is two out-and-back loops. Runners must cross the finish-line mats for each loop to ensure correct split times and synced finish-line photos. Age-group recognition is given to the top finisher in each gender designation (F/M/X) overall and in standard age brackets from 14 & under through 90+.
Event amenities include an informal bag-check area, restrooms a few minutes' walk from the start and finish, and hydration at the finish. Street and metered parking are available nearby, and public transportation access is noted for Forest Park. Bib mailing is available for a fee if requested in advance.
