Day of the Dead 5K & Half Marathon
The Day of the Dead 5K & Half Marathon takes place on October 25, 2026 at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, New York, with start and finish located near the Queens Theater and Queens Museum parking area. Distances offered include:
- 5K
- Half Marathon (four loops of the 5K course)
- Free Kiddie Dash near the common finish line
The 5K course is USATF certified and runs past the Unisphere and the Fountain of the Planets. Half marathon runners complete four loops of the certified 5K course and must pass through the finish line each lap for accurate split and finish times; a 3:15 hour cutoff applies to the half marathon. Hydration is provided at the finish for all participants, and bottle water and electrolytes are available on course for half marathon runners only.
Amenities include a Day of the Dead tee and finisher medal, informal bag-check staging, porto-johns near the finish, nearby park bathrooms, onsite refreshments provided by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water, pacers, and live online/email/text results with same-day finish line photos. Virtual entry options allow participants to log times and upload photos between October 25 and November 1. Bib mailing is available for a fee.
