Day of the Dead 5K & Half Marathon : NSRF 2026
The event on October 25, 2026 features in-person and virtual options at Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens, NY. Distances offered include:
- 5K: USATF certified course, one loop.
- Half Marathon: four loops of the 5K course.
- Virtual options: log time and up to five photos during the event week.
The course visits the Unisphere and the Fountain of the Planets, with start lines near the Queens Theater. Half marathon runners must run through the finish line on each loop for accurate splits. A cutoff of 3 hours 15 minutes applies to the half marathon and course support follows that schedule.
Amenities include a Day of the Dead tee and finisher medal, hydration at the finish, on-course bottle water and electrolytes for half marathon runners, informal bag check, and nearby restroom facilities including porto-johns. Refreshments are provided by event partners. Pacers will be available and runners vote for a best costume. A free Kiddie Dash takes place near the common finish area shortly before the main races.
Registration has in-person and virtual categories and an optional bib mailing for a fee when requested in advance. Donations benefit the Never Stop Running Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization that supports athletic events, community involvement, and athlete development.
