About the race
Day of the Dead 5K & Half Marathon is scheduled for October 25, 2026 at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, New York. The event offers in-person and virtual participation and includes a free Kiddie Dash near the common finish area.

The 5K uses a USATF certified loop that passes the Unisphere twice and runs around the Fountain of the Planets. The half marathon is four laps of the 5K course; half marathon runners must cross the finish line each lap for accurate splits. A 3 hour 15 minute cutoff applies to the half marathon and course support is provided based on that pace. Bottle water and electrolytes are available on-course for half marathon runners; hydration is provided at the finish for participants.
Event amenities include a Day of the Dead event shirt and finisher medal, informal bag check in the staging area, nearby bathrooms and porta-johns, and food and beverage refreshments supplied by event partners. Pacers will be available to help runners maintain target paces. Runners will vote for a best costume. Virtual participants can submit times and photos during the event window; virtual entries may receive mailed bibs and gear. Bib mailing is offered for a fee if requested in advance.
