The Northumberland Turkey Trot is a running and walking event taking place on Monday, October 12, 2026, at the Cobourg YMCA, located at 339 Elgin St W, Cobourg, Ontario. It features several events catering to different ages and participation levels.
Available Distances
- The Gobbler 5K Run: A timed 5 km run.
- The Gobbler 2.5K Run/Walk: A timed 2.5 km course for running or walking.
- Wing Ding 1K Kids Fun Run: An untimed 1 km fun run for kids and kids at heart, with finisher medals.
- Gobble Wobble: A free fun activity for children aged 4 and under.
The course takes place in the Cobourg Conservation Area and is described as an urban green space setting with uneven ground and small rolling hills, mostly on grass. The event includes awards for top finishers and a Golden Drumstick Award for best costume or turkey spirit.
Designed as a family-friendly event, it supports the YMCA Strong Communities Campaign, which aims to eliminate financial barriers for community members.
