Northfield 5K & One Mile Kids' Race
The event is the 47th annual Northfield 5K and One Mile kids' race presented by Central Vermont Runners and the Vermont Senior Games Association. It takes place in downtown Northfield at Depot Square on September 5 and is part of the town's Labor Day weekend activities.

- 5K race (ages 10 and up)
- One Mile Kids' Race (ages 6 to 11)
The 5K course begins in front of Northfield Savings Bank on Route 12. Mile markers are posted along the 5K course and a water station is located at the midpoint. Course maps will be available. The kids one mile starts near the Northfield Post Office, goes up the hill, and returns to Depot Square via South Street Central Street and Wall Street.
Awards and recognition include medals for all One Mile finishers and prizes for top three female male and nonbinary finishers in two kids age groups: 6 to 8 and 9 to 11. CVR will award prizes by five-year age groups for 5K finishers from ages 10-14 to 90 and over. VSGA will award gold silver and bronze medals to top three over age 50 in five-year age groups for the 5K.
Race logistics note that strollers headphones and dogs are not allowed. Minors under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign the waiver. Race day bib pickup is located at Depot Square near the stage. On-street parking is available along Main Street and port-a-lets will be on the west side of Depot Square. Proceeds support Central Vermont Runners and the Vermont Senior Games Association and there is an optional donation to CVR youth running mini-grants.
