About the race
The North Reading 5k Turkey Trot is a community running and walking event held on Thanksgiving morning, Wednesday/Thursday November 26, 2026 in North Reading, Massachusetts. The event offers two course options that start and finish at the same location in Ipswich River Park on Central Street.

The event is limited to a maximum of 1500 entries. Proceeds support two scholarships for deserving graduating seniors who participated in running programs and benefit the North Reading Middle/High School sports program. The North Reading Hornet Hall of Fame Committee is the sponsor.
Pre-registration through November 8, 2026 provides reduced fees and a guaranteed short-sleeve t-shirt size; shirts are not guaranteed after that date or if the event reaches capacity. Registration pricing varies by category and date, with different rates for students, adults, and family entries. Strollers are welcome. Dogs and bikes are not allowed because roads are not closed to traffic and many children participate.
Pre-race bib pickup is available at Marathon Sports, 668 Main Street, Reading, MA, and at the North Reading Middle/High School cafeteria, 189 Park Street. A food drive for the North Reading Food Pantry will be held during pre-race number pickup. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
