About the race
The North End Trail Run/Walk is an annual off road event organized by the North End Ski Club in Cable, Wisconsin. It takes place on Saturday, May 23, 2026, with start and finish at the North End Trailhead, 41640 Randysek Road, Cable, WI 54821.
Participants can choose between three distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- Half Marathon
The course uses mostly single track on the CAMBA Ojibwe mountain bike trail, combined with some North End Ski Trails. The terrain is constantly rolling and varied, with only a few longer hills. The Ojibwe Trail is narrow and twisting, with rocks, roots and other technical features, and passes through different forest types in the Bayfield County Forest.
All events cost 35 USD. Kids under 12 pay 15 USD and receive a goodie bag, or can take part for free without a goodie bag.
Aid stations on the course provide water and energy drink. Participants are expected to carry their own container.
Mail in and online registration are available, and there is no day of registration. Bib pick up takes place at the North End Cabin.
Awards are given to overall men and women in each race and to the first place in each 10 year age group. Awards are handed out immediately after the race without a central ceremony.
All participants receive a loaf of homemade bread from Tilly’s Pies in downtown Cable and a jar of homemade jam from members of the UCC Church in Cable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
