Run the Route 5K
The North Dakota State Fair Run the Route is an annual running event held in Minot. The course takes participants along the official state fair parade route, providing a unique environment for the race. The event consists of a single distance:
- 3.1 miles (5K)
The race begins at Our Redeemers Church at the South Hill Sports Complex and concludes at the State Fair Gate E Entrance on Burdick Expressway. Participants are responsible for their own transportation between the start and finish lines. Parking is available at the starting location at Our Redeemers Church.
All participants receive an admission ticket to the North Dakota State Fair upon completing the race. Runners who register by the early July deadline are guaranteed an event t-shirt. The event recognizes top finishers with specific awards. Trophies and concert tickets are presented to the first, second, and third place overall male and female finishers. Additionally, small awards are provided to the top male and female runners in age categories ranging from under 12 to over 70.
A portion of the proceeds from the entry fees is donated to local children's running programs and community groups. Registration is open to all ages, with varying fee structures for children and adults. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
