Event overview
The North Dakota State Fair Run the Route is an annual road race held in Minot, ND on July 18, 2026. The event features a 5K course that follows the NDSF parade route, starting near Our Redeemers Church (South Hill Sports Complex) and finishing at Burdick Expy at the State Fair Gate E entrance. Parking is available at the Our Redeemers Church parking lot. All participants are responsible for their own transportation to the start and from the finish.
Registration, packet pick-up and fees
Online registration remains open through the morning of the event, and race-day registration is available at the Our Redeemers packet pickup location. Packet pick-up is scheduled at Roosevelt Park Zoo on Friday, July 17, and at Our Redeemers on the morning of July 18. Entry fees vary by age and by date:
- Ages 13 and up: $25 through June 30, $30 in July
- Children 8-12: $15 through June 30, $20 in July
- Children 7 and under: free
Participants who register by July 4 are guaranteed a Run the Route T-shirt.
Awards and community benefit
All finishers receive an admission ticket to the State Fair upon completion of the 5K. Concert tickets and trophies are awarded to the first, second, and third place male and female finishers. Smaller awards are given to the top male and female in the following age groups: Under 12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. A portion of event proceeds will be donated to local children's running programs such as BIOGirls and Strides for Sunnyside. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
