Norman Cole Penistone 10K
The Norman Cole Penistone 10K is an award-winning road race located in the market town of Penistone, South Yorkshire. The event follows a single-lap circuit that begins and ends at the Penistone Church Football Club, a venue established in 1906.
The 10 km course features an undulating profile. It starts with a short loop through a local estate before transitioning onto quiet back roads that head toward the Pennine foothills. The final section of the route includes a steep downhill segment that leads onto the Trans Pennine Trail. The last two and a half kilometres are contested on this fast, flat surface as the route returns to the football club.
Participants have access to various facilities at the race headquarters, including toilets, changing rooms, showers, and baggage storage. Water is provided during the event, and the course is marked with distance indicators. Due to limited space at the venue, car sharing is recommended for those traveling by vehicle.
Registration is permitted for up to 308 entrants. The event carries a formal race licence and is categorized as not suitable for wheelchairs. Entry fees are set at a standard rate for unaffiliated runners with a discount for affiliated members. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
