The Norman Cole Penistone 10K is an award-winning race that takes place in the historic market town of Penistone in South Yorkshire.
Course Details
The 10 km road race begins at the Penistone Church Football Club. The route first goes through a short loop of an estate before heading out along quiet back roads towards the Pennine foothills. The course is undulating and eventually features a steep downhill section. The final two and a half kilometres are run on the flat, fast surface of the Trans Pennine Trail, leading back to the finish at the football club. The course is not suitable for wheelchairs.
Facilities & Logistics
Facilities at the race headquarters (Penistone Church Football Club) include water stations, distance markers, toilets, changing facilities, showers, and a baggage store. Parking at the venue is limited, and car sharing is advised.
Registration & Fees
Entry for the event opens at 10:00 on 6 February 2026. The entry fee is £16.00 for affiliated runners and £18.00 for unaffiliated runners. Entry on the day may be available for an additional £2.00 if the event does not sell out in advance. The event has an entry limit of 308 participants.
