Norfolk VFD 5-Mile Road Race
The Norfolk VFD 5-Mile Road Race is an out-and-back running event that starts and finishes at the Village Green in the center of Norfolk, Connecticut. The course covers 5 miles, runs up to Dennis Hill, and returns to the Village Green.
The event is presented as a Memorial Day tradition and serves as the sole fundraiser for the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department college and undergraduate scholarship program; all proceeds support Norfolk students.
Registration opens April 28, 2026, and closes May 22, 2026. The registration fee is $35. There is no registration on race day and donations are welcome.
Logistics note that parking will be available in the center of Norfolk, at Town Hall, or at the ball field on Mountain Road. Bib and shirt pick up is held at the Village Green prior to the race, with an additional pick-up opportunity on the Sunday before the race at the Village Green. A walking division is offered with a separate start and walkers are not timed. Water stations are placed along the route.
