Noonday Shanty 5K & 10K
The Noonday Shanty 5K & 10K is an athletic event held in the Town Center area, utilizing the Noonday Creek Trail. Both race distances are USA Track & Field-certified, and the event serves as an official qualifying race for the Peachtree Road Race. The course is paved, covering both the trail and local roadways.
Participants pass several local landmarks and points of interest along the route. These include Noonday Creek, Aviation Park, Cobb International Airport, and Fifth Third Bank Stadium. The course also travels by wetlands and bird habitats, such as the Chimney Swift Tower. Both the 5K and 10K routes begin and end at the Town Center at Cobb Mall.

The event supports greenspace and trail projects through the Town Center Community Alliance. Registration includes a T-shirt, and the races are professionally managed and timed. Team registration is available for participants, provided all members of a specific team compete in the same distance. For those interested in both distances, separate teams must be established for the 5K and 10K categories.
