Event Overview
The NOON Year's Eve 5K is a holiday running event held on December 31 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The event also includes a Kids Dash. The main 5K starts at noon, preceded by a traditional New Year's Eve countdown.
Course Details
The certified 5K course begins and ends at McAlpine Creek Park. The route uses crushed gravel surfaces and is described as a cross country course with views of a lake and surrounding parkland.
The Kids Dash covers approximately 0.20 to 0.25 miles. It is a flat sprint on a crushed gravel path, starting at the same line as the 5K before taking a shortcut to the finish line.
Participation and Amenities
The event includes awards for overall and age group performances, with a special award for the fastest last mile of the year. A "New Year's Double" bundle is available, combining registration for this 5K with the Charlotte New Year's Day 5K on January 1.
Registration for the 5K includes a long-sleeve branded race shirt, a finisher medal, and post-race lunch and beverages. Participants can choose a "Go Green" option to opt out of the shirt and medal.
