Nocterra Quitter's Run presented by Brooks
The Nocterra Quitter's Run is a multi-distance running event held in Powell, Ohio. The competition utilizes a 3.275-mile loop course that traverses a variety of surfaces, including city streets, bike paths, and sidewalks. Each lap involves approximately 26 feet of elevation gain. The race starts and finishes outside the beer garden at Nocterra Brewing.
Participants can select from several distance options based on the number of laps completed on the 1/8-marathon loop:
- Ultramarathon: As many laps as possible within a 6-hour time limit.
- Full Marathon: A total of 8 laps covering 26.2 miles.
- 1/2 Marathon: A total of 4 laps covering 13.1 miles.
- 1/4 Marathon: A total of 2 laps covering approximately 6.55 miles.
- 1/8 Marathon: A single lap of approximately 3.275 miles.
The event features a strict course closure for all participants at 1:00 PM. Specific time limits apply to each distance: 6 hours for the ultra, 5 hours for the marathon, 3 hours for the half marathon, 2 hours for the quarter marathon, and 1 hour for the 1/8 marathon. Runners who do not finish within these designated windows or before the course closure are classified as quitters. Additionally, no participants may begin a new lap after 12:35 PM.
While the venue is a brewery, alcohol consumption is prohibited during the race. Any participant who consumes alcohol before completing their distance must withdraw from the competition. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
