NMTC Fall Series

The NMTC Fall Series is a set of nine short trail races held across the Twin Ports from August to October 2026. The races showcase woodland singletrack and ski trails on multiple local routes. Events begin on Wednesday evenings early in the series and move to Sunday afternoons as daylight shortens. The series concludes with a communal potluck and prizes for all participants. Entry is free and donations are accepted online or at the race start.

  • Distances: 6 to 11 km

One highlighted race in the series is the Bull Run, a 10.5 km course that loops around the Spruce and Upper Lake Loop Trails at the far end of Jay Cooke State Park. The course starts and finishes at the trailhead off HWY 23 past Chamber’s Grove. The Bull Run route is very hilly and runs on moderately technical ski trails, with some wet spots in lower areas, and is noted as one of the longer and more difficult races in the series.

Schedule details vary by week and by course. Races emphasize forest singletrack terrain and short distances rather than long road sections or multiday formats. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
