Grand Traverse
The 19th Annual Grand Traverse is a fully supported hike and run along the Superior Hiking Trail in Duluth, Minnesota on October 3, 2026. The event is point to point and finishes at Fitger's Courtyard next to Lake Superior. The listed address for the event is 600 E Superior Street, Duluth, MN 55802.
Shuttle bus service is provided to the start locations. All distances finish downtown at Fitger's Courtyard.
Distances offered:
- 27 Miles: starts at Palkie Road trailhead in Jay Cooke State Park.
- 21 Miles: starts at the bottom of Ely's Peak.
- 17 Miles: starts at Magney-Snively trailhead parking lot.
- 10 Miles: starts along Keene Creek with views and waterfalls.
Course notes drawn from the distance descriptions: the 27 mile route passes old growth forests, streams, and rocky hill tops before finishing downtown; the 21 mile course begins at the bottom of Ely's Peak and ascends to the top; the 17 mile course crosses a gorge within five minutes of the start; the 10 mile course includes views, waterfalls, rocks, roots and climbs.
