NMSU Sprint Triathlon
The NMSU Sprint Triathlon takes place on October 24, 2026 in Las Cruces at New Mexico State University. The event follows a run, bike, swim order and starts at the Aquatic Center parking lot.
The sprint distances are:
- 5 kilometer run (3.1 miles)
- 20 kilometer bike (12.4 miles)
- 400 meter swim (0.25 mile)
The run consists of two laps around the fields behind the activity center and Sutherland Village. The bike course is four laps around campus, running between Aggie Memorial Stadium and the DACC. The swim is a snake swim held in the outdoor pool. The transition area is located in the NMSU Satellite Water Facility Parking lot west of the Aquatic Center.
Options include an individual sprint race and a relay for three-person teams. The relay registration is handled by a team captain who pays the team fee. Individual and relay registration fees are published for each entry category. Registration opens July 20, 2026 and closes August 16, 2026.
Awards include top three individual male and female shot glasses, top three relay team shot glasses, finisher medals and race T-shirts for all participants, and possible age group awards depending on registration numbers. Awards will be given for the top three in Clydesdale and Athena weight categories. All proceeds benefit the NMSU Triathlon Club. No refunds; unclaimed entries are considered donations.
