Course and purpose
Both courses start and finish at The Mill Amphitheater. The 5K route is a neighborhood loop that uses East Church Street, North Ave, Elm Drive, Anderson Road, Cleghorn Street, Russell Street, and Myrtle Street, including two cul-de-sac turnarounds before returning to The Mill. The 1.5 mile route follows East Church Street and North Ave to the Elm Drive intersection and then returns to The Mill.
The race was created in memory of a woman known as "Nise," who died in 2018 after a battle with cervical cancer. The event materials state a focus on cervical cancer prevention through regular check-ups, health screenings, and the HPV vaccine, and describe a broader mission to encourage women to prioritize physical and mental health.
