Event Overview

The Nina LeCuyer Memorial 5K is held on May 25, 2026. This will be the seventh edition of the event. The run/walk starts and ends at the LaVerne W. Anderson American Legion Post 0729 in Sheridan, Illinois. The route goes through the village streets.

Registration and Fees

The registration fee is $35. This fee includes entry into the 5K race/walk, a Memorial Day breakfast at the Legion after the event, and an invitation to the Legion's Memorial Day ceremony honoring those who have served. Race day registration is available.

Awards

Awards are given to the top overall male and female finishers and to the top veteran finisher. The top three male and female finishers in 14 different age groups also receive awards, ranging from 9 and under to 70+.

Purpose

The event honors Nina LeCuyer, a long-time supporter of Legion Post 0729. All proceeds support someone in need from the community or benefit the Illinois Veteran's Home. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
