Nightmare Before Xmas Trail ½ Marathon
The Nightmare Before Xmas Trail ½ Marathon takes place on 19 December 2026 at Bridgend Miniature Railway Centre, Aberkenfig, Tondu, Bridgend CF32 9BZ. The event is organised by Mad Running Junkies and entry is limited to 70 participants. Minimum age is 17.
The route combines two main sections and mixed terrain. Distances included:
- The Hateful Eight - an 8 mile section.
- Additional section - about 5 and a bit miles.
The course includes a steep hill, a road section with views, a downhill forestry trail that can be technical, and sections with mud and water including a named steep section called the HILL OF DOOM. The course will be fully marked.
Facilities and inclusions listed by the organiser include car parking, toilet facilities, a bespoke medal, hot and cold drinks, snacks including mince pies and Christmas cake, medical cover and event volunteers. There is a prize for the best and most imaginative Christmas fancy dress; participants are required to run in their costume. The event finishes when the final person completes the course.
