Night Glow 5K
Night Glow is an evening, community 5K held in Jackson Township at Jackson Memorial Middle School in Massillon, Ohio. The event is organized and hosted by the Jackson High School Cross Country team and supporters. The race course and finish area are lit with multiple glowing elements, including up to 1,500 luminaries, a 300 foot arch of lights, glow necklaces, and a fireworks start. A Kids half mile fun run takes place before the main event. After the race, snacks and beverages are available for participants and supporters.
Distances:
- 5K
- 0.5 Miles (Kids Fun Run)
Entry fees listed by the organizer include a $25 fee for the 5K events, an $8 fee for the half mile fun run, and no fee for the wheelchair 5K entry named "5K Angel's." Night Glow shirts are guaranteed only for those who pre register by midnight on June 11; shirts may be available after that while supplies last. A no shirt option reduces registration by $5.
Packet pickup is scheduled the day before at Jackson High School commons area. Event day parking is at Jackson Memorial Middle School near the start and finish; some local streets will have restricted access and alternate access routes are provided. Restrooms are available inside the middle school on race night and the same entrance serves as the emergency shelter if needed. The school will be locked once the race begins so belongings should be collected ahead of time.
Donations made at the event support participating nonprofit organizations including The Little Pink Ribbon Girl Organization, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, 33JordanStrong, Ainsley's Angels, and Jackson Cross Country Parents. Awards are given at the conclusion of the event at the awards tent near the finish line. Live results are available through the RacePenguin App. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
