Northern Ireland and Ulster Championship Seaton Classic 10k : Bangor, 27 September 2025
The Seaton Classic is a 10 km road race organised by North Down Athletic Club. It was previously known as the Bangor 10k and is the designated NI & Ulster Championship 10k under an Athletics NI permit. The event will be chip timed and there is no virtual option. A prize fund of over £3,550 will be awarded across age categories for both male and female competitors. Participants must be at least 15 years old on race day. Entry categories include Green (no medal or t-shirt), Medal-only, T-shirt-only and Full Entry (medal plus technical t-shirt); online registration is open until 24 September 2025. No refunds are available; name changes are permitted until 25 September 2025.
Course, logistics and safety
The course starts in Castle Park outside Bangor Castle and finishes in Ward Park. The route is described as fairly flat, running downhill into Bangor city centre, along the coast through Ballyholme and Groomsport, with a short hill around the 9 km mark before the finish. Water stations are provided at Groomsport and at the finish. Race pack collection takes place at Bangor Aurora Aquatic & Leisure Complex on the day before and the morning of the event. Changing facilities, showers and toilets are available at the Aurora centre; additional toilets are provided in Castle Park. Roads remain open to traffic, the route is marshalled and clearly marked, and first aid is provided along the route and at the finish.
