#NFStrong North Kansas City
#NFStrong North Kansas City is a community fundraising walk and 5K taking place on May 30, 2026 at William E. Macken Park, 1002 Clark Ferguson Drive, North Kansas City, MO 64116. The event is organized by the NF Network to support services, research, education, and outreach for people affected by neurofibromatosis.
The NF Network states its mission as promoting scientific research, improving clinical care, providing outreach through education and awareness, and offering hope and support to those affected by NF. The event combines on-site activity with virtual participation so supporters can join locally or from elsewhere. The virtual 5K option does not include a t-shirt.
Neurofibromatosis is described as a genetic disorder of the nervous system that causes tumors to form on nerves and can occur at any age. NF affects all races and sexes and is estimated at about one in every 2,500 to 3,000 births. The organization notes the condition affects more than 120,000 Americans and that roughly half of cases have a family history while the other half result from spontaneous mutation.
Registration categories include in-person 5K, virtual 5K, and a Kid's Walk. Event sponsors listed include Alexion, SpringWorks, and Excel Constructors. Fundraising activity and team fundraising totals are part of the event structure. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
