Newport Spirit Run is a community running festival held at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort & Marina in Newport Beach, California. The event includes a half marathon that traverses Upper Newport Bay for the first time in more than 20 years and a program of 5K and mile races for adults and youth. The Youth & Fitness Expo takes place inside the resort next to the beach.
The event includes eco friendly measures developed with Newport Bay Conservancy as a beneficiary. Organizers ban single use plastic bottles and gel wrappers on course and in the expo, operate cupless water stations, and provide reusable hydration containers to Half Marathon and 5K registrants. Each registrant receives a shirt and a custom medal. The event supports local schools, youth sports programs, and other youth causes. Ticket prices listed range from $26.36 to $137.76.

The course passes scenic wetlands, bluffs, restored habitats, the Back Bay Science Center, Big Canyon Nature Park restoration area, the Back Bay Lookout Vista Point, the Upper Newport Bay Nature Reserve and interpretive center, and a trash receptor that captures debris before it enters the bay.
