Event Overview
The Newcastle Beach Triathlon is a USAT sanctioned multisport event held at Newcastle Beach Park in Bellevue. Participants compete in a course that utilizes Lake Washington and the surrounding paved surfaces. The event provides several competition formats to accommodate different preferences, including a full triathlon, relay options, and specialized categories for younger participants.
The primary distances for the event are:
- 1/4 mile swim in Lake Washington
- 13 km bike ride on the off-road EASTRAIL
- 8 km run overlooking Lake Washington
The bike portion of the course takes place on the EASTRAIL, passing by the Virginia Mason Athletic Center (VMAC), which serves as the training facility for the Seattle Seahawks. Registration includes a race t-shirt and a finisher medal. Following the completion of the courses, a post-race celebration is held for the participants.
