The New Years Day 5K & Half Marathon - Shreveport takes place on January 1, 2026 in Bossier City, LA at Walker Place Park (4832 Brookshire Arena Dr.). The event offers the following distances:

The course is described as flat and will be chip timed at start and finish. Water stations are provided approximately every 1.5 miles. Finisher medals are reserved for the first 200 on-site registrants. Awards will be given in multiple categories, including Top 3 Overall M/F, Top 3 Masters M/F, Top Grand Master M/F, Top Senior Master M/F, and top 3 in five-year age groups from 10 & Under through 80+.
Registration, packet pickup, virtual, and volunteer details
Registration prices change by period: Preview ($16), Early Bird ($21), Regular ($26), Late ($28.50), and Race Day ($31). Participants who register by December 22 are guaranteed race swag in their size; after that swag is while supplies last. Early packet pickup is scheduled for December 31 at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Shreveport South - Park Plaza. Packet pickup is also available on race morning. Virtual participants receive shipped swag within the continental US (lower 48 states), may submit times through the event site by the end of January 1, and will see virtual results posted the Monday after the event. Volunteers who recruit three others (age 13 or older) and work the full event may receive a $50 Visa gift card if all conditions are met.
