Event overview
The New Year Doggy Dash 5K & Fun Run takes place in Fort Worth, Texas at Woodshed Smokehouse on January 10, 2026. The event offers two distances:
- 5K Run/Walk - 3.1 miles
- 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk
Both races are chip timed and dog-friendly; dogs must be registered to attend. Hydration stations will be available for humans and dogs at the halfway/turnaround point. The field is capped at 500 participants.
Post-run activities include vendor booths with local small businesses, games and music, and adoptable dogs. Finishers receive a swag bag and a 6" medal for 2026. 5K finishers receive a breakfast burrito and a choice of an adult beverage or soft drink; Fun Run finishers receive a breakfast burrito. Dog finishers receive a Redbarn meaty bone. Event shirts are available for an additional cost, with a limited number for purchase on race day.
Registration, packet pick-up and awards
Registration pricing varies by date: Early Bird (by 12/24/25), Online (by 1/9/26), and Race Day on-site. A dog registration fee applies for each participating dog. Packet pick-up is scheduled the day before at Ruff Resort & Spa and on race day at Woodshed Smokehouse.
Awards are given to overall male and female, overall master male and female, and top male and female in each 5K age group (age groups from 12 & under through 70 & over). Official results are chip timed by Cox Racing Services. One hundred percent of proceeds support Love & Paws Rescue. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
