Tails on the Trails at Triangle Hills
New Leash On Life, a 501(c)(3) organization developing a no-kill pet adoption and resource center in Crown Point, Indiana, is holding an inaugural dog run and walk event on June 6, 2026 at YMCA Camp Triangle Hills & Retreat Center in Crown Point. The event is open to families and their dogs and takes place on trails through the camp.
Participants can choose between these distances:
- 5K Run
- 2K Run/Walk
The event includes a curated free vendor area, food vendors, contests, demonstrations, and the Y Climbing Tower available for attendees who want to participate in activities separate from the run. The trail course is described as offering varied sights and smells for two-legged and four-legged participants, and the organizer encourages those with dogs to take their time and enjoy the route.
Registration pricing is tiered: $30 for the 5K on or before May 6 ($35 after) and $25 for the 2K on or before May 6 ($30 after). Registration includes a race t-shirt and finisher medal (not guaranteed after May 6), a dog medal charm, a race swag bag, and finish line treats for dogs. The 5K includes a chip-timed race bib.
Awards for 5K participants include top overall male and female and top three in standard age groups; both races include awards for the biggest and smallest dog finishers. Packet pickup is available June 5 (4:00–7:00 PM) at Berkshire Hathaway Executive Realty in Crown Point and onsite June 6 (7:30–8:30 AM) at YMCA Camp Triangle Hills.
