New England Green River Marathon
The New England Green River Marathon is a point to point marathon held on August 23, 2026. The course begins in Marlboro, Vermont and follows the Green River, passing through an 1870s covered bridge, and finishes at Greenfield Community College in Greenfield, Massachusetts beneath maple trees.
The course is USATF certified (MA18003JK) and has a net 1,400 foot drop over a rolling, downhill profile. The route has produced many personal best times and Boston qualifying times for well trained runners. The finish area is described as a shaded celebration space at the college.
The event includes standard registration and fundraising entry options. One option allows participants to join the Stream Team by raising an additional $250 to support the Connecticut River Conservancy; those funds are directed to CRC efforts for clean water, habitat restoration, and resilient watershed communities. Another listed entry required a minimum $40 donation to Unite to Fight Paralysis; that registration variant was noted as sold out. Fundraising for the event has supported organizations including the Connecticut River Conservancy, Sugarloaf Mountain Athletic Club, and Unite to Fight Paralysis, with a reported total raised of $23,200.
The event contact is Natural High Running Company, LLC and the finish location is Greenfield Community College, College Drive, Greenfield, MA. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
