New England Green River Marathon
The New England Green River Marathon is scheduled for August 23, 2026, and finishes at Greenfield Community College in Greenfield, Massachusetts. The point-to-point course begins in Marlboro, Vermont, follows the Green River, passes through an 1870s covered bridge, and concludes beneath maple trees at the college.
The course is USATF certified (MA18003JK) and has a net 1,400 foot drop across a rolling, downhill profile. Organizers note the route has produced personal bests and Boston qualifying times for well-trained runners.
For 2026 the marathon is full; there is no waitlist and no bib transfers. The event lists several fundraising partners and options: a Stream Team entry requires raising an additional $250 to benefit the Connecticut River Conservancy, and an entry option requires a minimum $40 donation to Unite 2 Fight Paralysis. Fundraising organizations associated with the event include the Connecticut River Conservancy, Sugarloaf Mountain Athletic Club, and Unite 2 Fight Paralysis, with reported funds raised totaling $23,300.
