Event Details

The New England Green River Marathon takes place on Sunday, August 23, 2026. The race starts in Marlboro, Vermont and finishes in Greenfield, Massachusetts at Greenfield Community College.

The Course

The point-to-point marathon route follows the Green River and passes through an 1870s covered bridge. The course is USATF-certified (Certification MA18003JK) and features a rolling, downhill profile with a net elevation drop of 1,400 feet. Due to the net downhill being less than 1,500 feet, finishing times are not adjusted for Boston Marathon qualification purposes. According to FindMyMarathon.com, this is ranked as the 17th fastest marathon course in the nation and the fastest in New England.
