About the race
New Castle 10K is a waterfront road race held on April 25, 2027, at Great Island Common in New Castle, New Hampshire. The Waterfront 10K Course passes the Portsmouth Shipyard, the naval prison, the Piscataqua River, lobster boats, sailboats, a lighthouse, and the Wentworth by the Sea Hotel and Marina, and crosses four bridges. The course has a time limit of 1:45 hours (17:00 minutes per mile).
Event services include two water stops located approximately every two miles, gear check at the registration area, and post-race refreshments with water, fresh bananas, snacks, and yogurt provided by Stonyfield. Race photos are provided free and are posted online 2-3 business days after the event; finish line video links are emailed 1-2 business days after the race. Live results are published exclusively on millenniumrunning.com and are also emailed to those who register online.
Parking and access details note limited VIP parking on Great Island Common, general parking at Portsmouth High School with shuttle buses between the high school and the start/finish area, and a runner drop off and pick up location at the front driveway of Great Island Common. Street parking on public streets in New Castle is not permitted.
A virtual option is available for participants to run on their own before the Monday after the race and submit results by that Monday at 11:59pm. Bibs and race tees are limited to the first 1,200 combined in-person and virtual registrants. Awards are given to the top 3 overall men and women by guntime and to the top 3 male and female in each 5-year age group by net time; awards must be claimed at the Awards Tent and will not be mailed.
