New Buffalo Township Fired Up 5K
The New Buffalo Township Fired Up 5K is a community fundraising run that supports equipment for New Buffalo Township firefighters. The event is located at Timothy's Restaurant, 16409 Red Arrow Highway, Union Pier, MI 49129.
The course follows the new non motorized path along Red Arrow Highway and winds through Union Pier. Pre and post race activities are held in Timothy's Restaurant parking lot.
Packet pickup is available the day before at New Buffalo Township Hall, 17425 Red Arrow Highway, and on the day of the event at the race venue. Registration fees range from $25 to $35 and tee shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed before September 7; a limited number of extra shirts may be available during packet pickup on a first come first serve basis.
Awards are given to overall male and female finishers and in age categories 14 and under, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and over. Timing and scoring are provided by MAC's Sports Timing and results will be posted during the event and online. The race may be canceled for inclement weather or other safety concerns and refunds will not be issued in those circumstances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
