New Buffalo Township Fired Up 5K
The New Buffalo Township Fired Up 5K is a community 5K run and walk held on September 19, 2026, in Union Pier, Michigan. The event supports New Buffalo Township firefighters by raising funds for equipment. The course uses the new nonmotorized path along Red Arrow Highway and winds through Union Pier. Pre race and post race activities take place in the parking lot of Timothy's Restaurant at 16409 Red Arrow Highway.
Packet pickup is available the day before at New Buffalo Township Hall on Red Arrow Highway and on race day at Timothy's Restaurant parking lot. Registration fees are tiered and include amounts of $25, $30, and $35. Tee shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed by September 7; a limited number of extra shirts will be available on a first come, first serve basis during packet pickup.
Results and timing are provided by MAC's Sports Timing and will be posted during the event and online. Awards are presented to overall male and female finishers and in age categories 14 and under, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and over. The race director reserves the right to cancel the event in case of inclement weather or other safety risks; refunds may not be provided in those circumstances.
