Never Forget 9/11 Heroes: 25th Remembrance 5k Run / Walk
The Never Forget 9/11 Heroes event is a 5k run/walk held at Wilson Creek Winery in Temecula, California. The event records a commemorative program that includes the singing of the National Anthem, a run followed by a walk, sponsor acknowledgements, guest speakers, presentations of medals, and the naming of sponsored 9/11 heroes.
Each participant receives a 3×5 Fallen Hero Flag before finishing the course. Participants may also fundraise to sponsor a specific 9/11 hero; a fundraising target of $400 results in the family of the sponsored hero receiving a 16×20 Memorial Speaker / MP3 Player that will be presented at the hero’s station in New York City or the Pentagon as part of the 25th remembrance activities. Sponsors receive a printed framed copy of the 16×20 memorial picture, and sponsorship recognition is delivered to surviving family members prior to September 11, 2026.
