Never Forget 25th Remembrance of 9/11 5K
The Never Forget 25th Remembrance of 9/11 5K is a commemorative running and walking event held at the Wilson Creek Winery in Temecula, California. The course leads participants through the wine fields of the estate. The event serves to honor and remember heroes from September 11, 2001.
Available distances include:
- 5 km run or walk
- 1 mile run for children aged 12 and under
The 5 km event includes timed categories for competitive runners. These age groups are divided into participants aged 18 and under, 19 to 25, 26 to 50, and 51 to 65 for both men and women. Competitive prizes are awarded to the first, second, and third-place finishers in each category. Every participant who completes the course receives a finisher's medal.
Registration packages vary by age. Participants aged 21 and over receive a glass of wine, an event t-shirt, and a gift bag. Participants under the age of 21 receive an event t-shirt and a gift bag. A team challenge option is also available for groups of ten people. Teams that meet specific fundraising targets are recognized as sponsors of a 9/11 hero, and members receive an American Flag representing fallen heroes.
