Neil McCover Memorial Half Marathon
The Neil McCover Memorial Half Marathon takes place on 15 February 2026. The race is organised by Kirkintilloch Olympians with support from Police Scotland and East Dunbartonshire Council. It forms part of the Kirkintilloch Festival of Running, which includes the following events on the same day:
- Half marathon
- 12.5k race
- 5k fun run
Entrants may enter only one of the festival events. The half marathon course runs on public roads and pavements through scenic East Dunbartonshire countryside and is described as undulating. The event is held under UK Athletics rules and is a Scottish Athletics licensed event. All finishers will receive a commemorative buff.
Registration is handled via EntryCentral. Registration and race-day administration are based outside Gartconner Primary School. There are no changing facilities; portable toilets will be used. Runners should aim to complete the course in under 2.5 hours, as marshals may be withdrawn after that time.
Entry fees for the half marathon are listed as £20 for SAL/UKA registered athletes and £22 for non-UKA/SAL registered athletes (including a £2 SAL levy).
