About the race
Ned's Wish Heroes Run 2026 is a fundraising event that honours RCMP Police Dog Bandit and supports retired police and military service dogs across Canada. The event offers a 5km run or walk that can be completed in person at several host locations or virtually from any location.
In person sites listed for 2026 include:
- Ace's K-9 Care, 5877 Leslie Road, Prince George, BC, with a 5km course and an on-site pet fair featuring vendor booths, food trucks and puppy yoga.
- York Regional Police at Tom Taylor Trail, 240 Prospect St, Newmarket, ON, with a 5km course.
- RCMP Police Dog Service Training Centre, Red Deer Trails, start near Starbucks on Sharpe Ave, Red Deer, AB, with a 5km course.
- Canine Heroes Kennel, 10046 Grey Road, Coldstream, BC, with a 5km course.
- Campbell Valley Regional Park, 20285 8 Avenue, Langley, BC, with a 5km course.
A virtual option allows participants to complete the 5km wherever they are. Registration choices include a swag option that ships a t shirt designed by Thiessens Tattoo and a limited edition Bandit memorial challenge coin, or a no swag option. Individual registration fees are CA$100 with swag and CA$55 without swag. Some registrations can be transferred but not cancelled. All proceeds benefit retired K-9s.
