Ned Ned Run
The Ned Ned Run is a long-standing athletic event held in Nederland, Colorado, with a history spanning over 40 years. Participants travel through Old Town Nederland, a mountain town setting that provides a backdrop of local history and nature. The event is organized by the Peak to Peak Endurance Foundation and supports youth and family services.
The event offers three distinct distances with varying terrain:
- Half Marathon: A 13.3-mile trail course featuring 1,408 feet of elevation gain on dirt roads and single-track trails.
- 10K: A 6.3-mile trail run consisting of dirt roads and mountain trails with 712 feet of elevation gain.
- 5K Road Run: A road-based course that follows an out-and-back route between TEENS, Inc. and the local high school.
The 5K is open to participants who wish to run with their dogs, provided the animals remain on a leash. For all distances, the use of costumes is encouraged. The Half Marathon is recognized as a part of the Colorado Mountain Half Marathon Series. The event starts and finishes at 151 East Street, utilizing the surrounding mountain landscape to provide participants with varied terrain and elevation.
