Event Details
The Necktie 5K Walk & Run is a 5 km event for walkers and runners. The 19th edition takes place on Saturday, June 20, 2026. The event is open to participants aged 4 and over.
Registration and Fees
Online registration opens on January 28, 2026. The standard registration fee is $25. Registration after the early deadline (June 8, 2026) increases to $35 per entry. Registration is limited to the first 500 people. There is a $5 discount per registration for groups of four or more who register online at the same time.
Location and Logistics
The start and finish location is at Rebora Plaza, 1 East Lakefront Drive in Beverly Shores, Indiana, at the corner of Lakefront Drive and Broadway. On-site parking is extremely limited. Participants are advised to park at St. Ann of the Dunes Church, located one mile south of the start, and use the provided shuttle bus service, which runs before and after the event.
Awards and Theme
The event encourages participants to wear neckties in recognition of fathers, as it is held on Father's Day weekend. Prizes are awarded for the most creative neckties. Awards are also given to the top three finishers in each age group. The first father-son and first father-daughter teams to finish together receive special prizes.
Additional Activities
A free Kid's Sprint for children aged 8 and under is held before the main race. After the 5K, participants are offered refreshments, including Gatorade, bananas, and donuts, along with entertainment. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
