Event Details
The Necktie 5K Walk & Run is the 19th annual edition of this event, taking place on Saturday, June 20, 2026. The event is open to participants aged 4 and older.
Course and Location
The event starts at Rebora Plaza, at the corner of Lakefront Drive and Broadway in Beverly Shores, Indiana, offering views of Lake Michigan.
Thematic Elements and Awards
As the name suggests, participants are encouraged to wear neckties during the event. Prizes are awarded for the most creative neckties. The top three finishers in each age group receive a necktie. Special awards are also given to the first father-son and first father-daughter teams to finish the race together.
Registration and Fees
Registration is limited to the first 500 participants. The standard registration fee is $25, increasing to $35 after June 8, 2026. A discount of $5 per registration is offered for groups of four or more who register online together. A discount is also available for early registrants who do not wish to receive a t-shirt. Packet pickup and in-person registration are available on June 19 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Beverly Shores Administration Building. Race day registration opens at 7:00 AM.
Included Amenities
Pre-registered participants may receive a commemorative race number and an official race shirt. The shirts are short-sleeved, unisex, and available in sizes from Kid's Small to Adult XXL. After the run, refreshments like Gatorade, bananas, and donuts are provided, along with entertainment. A local food truck will be present, offering breakfast calzones for purchase.
Additional Activities
Before the main event, a free Kids Sprint is held for children aged 8 and under. All participating children receive a prize. Group stretches follow the Kids Sprint.
Parking and Logistics
Parking near the start line is extremely limited. Participants are advised to park at St. Ann of the Dunes Church, located one mile south of the start, and use the provided shuttle buses, marked by blue "Shuttle Stop" signs, to reach the start line.
