NC Blueberry Festival 5K
The NC Blueberry Festival 5K takes place in the historic downtown area of Burgaw, North Carolina. The event is held in conjunction with the 23rd Annual North Carolina Blueberry Festival, which includes live music, craft vendors, a car and truck show, and a pie eating contest. The race begins in front of the Burgaw Presbyterian Church on East Fremont Street.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5K (3.1 miles): This is a timed event.
- 1 Mile: This is an untimed event.
Both distances are open to participants who wish to run or walk. The route passes through the small-town setting of Burgaw during the community's primary annual event. Participants also have access to fresh, locally grown blueberries at the conclusion of their event.
The race supports the Pender Alliance for Total Health (PATH). This organization provides an integrated system of care for youth, families, and school staff in Pender County through school-based health centers.
Parking is available on various streets, though space is limited. Additional parking is provided along the grassy railroad right-of-way located between Dickerson and Dudley streets. Registration remains open until the start of the events via mobile devices and QR codes provided at the site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
