The NC AAZK Zoo Dash 5K takes place on Saturday, May 30, 2026, starting at Jaycee Park in Greensboro, North Carolina. The event is organized by NC AAZK, the North Carolina Chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers. This organization is a nonprofit volunteer group of professional zookeepers focused on animal care, conservation, and education.

Course Details
The 5K route is fully paved and winds through Country Park and the Greensboro Science Center's zoo. The course features rolling terrain. The start is in the Jaycee Park parking lot, and the finish is near the Rotary Club of Greensboro Carousel. Walkers are welcome, but all participants must complete the course within 90 minutes. Strollers are allowed, though some course sections may be narrow with uneven surfaces. Only service animals are permitted.
Registration and Practical Information
Registration is limited to 500 participants. There are two price categories: an adult price of $40.00 and a youth price of $35.00 for participants under 18 years old. The online registration fee includes a timing chip and a race t-shirt. Awards are given to the overall top three male and female finishers, as well as the top three in several age categories. Parking is at Jaycee Park. The event takes place rain or shine, and the registration fee is non-refundable.
Charitable Purpose
Proceeds from the race benefit conservation organizations: Turtle Survival Alliance, Anteaters and Highways, Piedmont Land Conservancy, and NC AAZK. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
