About the race
The Navy and Marine Corps Freedom 5K marks the birthdays of the Sea Services and honors the sacrifices of those who have served to support and defend freedom. The 2026 edition is offered as both an in-person event and a virtual option. The course distance for both options is 3.1 miles.
The in-person event takes place at Hyde Lake Pavilion, Great View Drive N, Memphis, TN 38134. The event includes participant goodies consisting of a shirt and a medal; in-person registrants who register on the morning of the race should note that shirt size is not guaranteed.
Registration opens June 28, 2026. Online registration follows deadlines set for late September and early October depending on the entry type. The documented registration fee for each entry option is $30.00.
The University of Memphis Gold Company organizes the event and states that all support and funds will go toward the University of Memphis Navy ROTC.
