Event overview
The Nauvoo Marathon is a road running event on April 25, 2026. The marathon course begins in Carthage and finishes in Nauvoo. The route passes the Carthage Courthouse and Carthage Jail and runs adjacent to a 22-mile historic trail. The course is mostly on paved roads with small areas of gravel and winds through farmland before entering Nauvoo. As runners enter Nauvoo, the course follows Main Street and concludes with a post-race celebration at the finish area. Live music, themed celebrations, and community presence are planned along the course and at the finish.
