The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk in Donnellson is scheduled for July 4, 2026 at 616 N. Main Street, Donnellson, Iowa. The event marks the fifth year the community has gathered to honor first responders, remember the victims of September 11, 2001, and raise funds for Tunnel to Towers programs.
The course is a 5K (3.1 miles) open to runners and walkers. Registration categories include adult, first responders and military, youth (13 to 17 years), and child (12 and under) with separate fees for each category. Day-of registration is permitted and online registration may remain open until the start; late registrants should not expect guaranteed shirt sizes.
Participants must display their bib on the front of their outermost garment; those without a bib will be asked to leave the course. Front corral placement is available for runners predicting paces faster than six minutes per mile. The event is currently not timed; timing plans may change as sponsors are confirmed.
A water station will be available on the route and water will be provided at the square. Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted; firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are also permitted. Emergency medical services will be on site and radio communication will be available along the course.
Registrations may be transferred but are nonrefundable. Donations are accepted for six weeks after the event, and fundraising incentives apply to funds completed by August 31, 2026. Packet pick up details will be announced. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
