NATIVE-X Obstacle Fitness Race
The NATIVE-X Obstacle Fitness Race is a sports competition held in West Palm Beach, Florida. The event combines running with functional fitness and technical obstacles, structured as interval laps between specialized zones. The course layout features four Obstacle Fitness Zones concentrated in a single area, allowing spectators to view the progress of participants. Each zone contains two obstacles, such as monkey bars, rope climbs, or walls, and two functional fitness exercises like deadlifts or wall balls.
Available race formats include:
- 5 km Individual (Competitive or For Fun)
- 5 km Doubles (Competitive or For Fun)
- 2.5 km Individual (Competitive or For Fun)
- 2.5 km Doubles (Competitive or For Fun)
- 1 mile Kids (Ages 5-10, For Fun)
The 5 km distance focuses on more running with lighter weights, requiring participants to be capable of deadlifting 155 lbs for men and 95 lbs for women. The 2.5 km distance emphasizes heavier weights with less running, with standards of 225 lbs for men and 155 lbs for women.
In competitive waves, participants must wear a wristband and complete 100% of all obstacles and exercises to remain eligible for prizes. Doubles teams must wear matching shirts and stay within arms reach of their partner. Individual "For Fun" participants may receive assistance from friends or bypass specific challenges.
