National Blueberry Festival 5K Run and Walk
The National Blueberry Festival 5K takes place in South Haven, Michigan, starting at the Riverfront Marina. The course is designed to be straight and provides views of Lake Michigan, the Black River, and the downtown area. Proceeds from the event support the National Blueberry Festival and the We Care Community Resource Center.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5 km (3.1 miles) Run
- 5 km (3.1 miles) Walk
The walking category is strictly for participants who do not run; those who wish to combine both running and walking should enter the run category. Strollers are permitted in both the run and walk, provided they start at the back of the group. Pets are not allowed for the safety of all participants.
Awards are presented on a main stage at the finish line. In the run, medals are awarded to the top three finishers in age groups ranging from 10 and under to 80 and over. Trophies are given to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as the top masters (50+) male and female. In the walk, medals are awarded to the top three finishers in age groups ranging from 30 and under to over 80.
A gear check station is available at the registration area for participants to store personal items during the event. Registered participants receive a moisture-wicking unisex t-shirt, though size availability is guaranteed only for those who register by the specified deadline in early August. There is no race day registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
