Nashville Urban Runoff 5K
The Tennessee Department of Agriculture, Division of Forestry and the Tennessee Stormwater Association present the 15th Annual chip-timed 5K Urban Runoff, held on July 31, 2027, at Shelby Bottoms Park and Greenway in Nashville. The event takes place rain or shine and benefits the Tennessee Stormwater Association.
A free Water Quality Family Festival accompanies the run and features kids' activities, hands-on education, and exhibits that highlight clean water and green infrastructure. Educational signage about stormwater, runoff, and pollution appears along the course.
Registration carries a fee of $40 and includes a t-shirt, a swag bag, and a participation medal. On-site registration is available via QR code with credit card payment only; cash is not accepted. No refunds are issued, though entries may be transferred to another participant.
Strollers are permitted and will start after runners and walkers. Dogs are permitted on the course after the main field has started; owners are asked to bring bags and clean up waste.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in overall and age group categories. A Watershed Quality Contest will award one $2,000 grant to a local non-governmental organization for implementation of runoff-reduction projects. NGOs may apply regardless of tax status and must submit a signed implementation certification. Volunteers receive a free t-shirt and snacks.
