Nashville Oktoberfest 5K Bier Run
The event is a 5K running event held in the Historic Germantown neighborhood of downtown Nashville. The course begins at the intersection of 7th Avenue North and Madison Street near 700 Madison, Nashville, TN 37208. It is presented as part of the Nashville Oktoberfest and proceeds benefit the Historic Germantown Neighborhood Association, a registered 501(c)3.
Pre-registered participants receive a race T-shirt, a 20 oz beer or a wine token for use at Oktoberfest, and festival entry on race day; alcohol is available to those 21 and older with ID. Packet pick-up and onsite registration occur at the 5K Race Registration Tent on 7th Avenue North at the corner of Jefferson Street, with pick-up times on Friday, October 2 from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm and on Saturday, October 3 from 6:30 am to 7:30 am.
Registration fees vary by date: $40 in July, $48 in August, $53 through October 1, $58 on-site October 2, and $65 on-site October 3. Awards are presented to the top three overall finishers, top three masters, and top three in five-year age groups, plus awards for the top three companies in each Corporate Challenge division using cross-country scoring with age and gender handicaps. Race management is provided by the Nashville Striders. Participants should note that pets are not allowed, strollers are staged at the rear, use of headphones is discouraged, parking is limited, and a nearby State of Tennessee lot is about three blocks from the start line.
