About the race
The Napa Fall Wine Country event offers trail distances on the single-track inside Bothe-Napa Valley State Park in Saint Helena, California. The 34th annual edition on October 24, 2026 includes organized races over:
- Marathon
- Half marathon
- 10K
- 5K
The course follows narrow trails with hills, streams and rocky sections. The route is marked with orange ribbon at crossings; participants should follow the ribbon and not rely on others for directions. One aid station is located at the start/finish area; half marathoners pass it once during their two loops and marathoners encounter it near miles 6, 10, 16 and 20. Participants are advised to carry water. Hikers and walkers are welcome.
Course cut off for the marathon is six hours (approximately 13:45 minutes per mile); cut off paces for other distances are listed for the event. T-shirts are provided to all participants. Personalized award ribbons are mailed to the top three finishers by age group in each distance, and medals are awarded to all marathon and half marathon finishers. Bib numbers are mailed beginning two weeks before the event; if not received, bibs are available on race morning.
The field is limited to 300 participants. Parking inside the park requires a fee of $10 per vehicle; overflow parking is available legally along Highway 29. Headphones and other audio devices are not allowed on course for safety on narrow trails. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
