Course and logistics
The course travels on sandy beach roads, bike paths, lightly traveled neighborhood streets and a few patches of sand, and it offers ocean views. The route highlights the Nantucket Land Bank's Smooth Hummocks Coastal Preserve, described as a globally rare sand plain grassland ecosystem. There will not be a Quarter Marathon option for this edition. A free kids fun run is included; each participating child receives a Bartlett's Farm pumpkin. Registration opens January 1. Registration fees are non-refundable. Prices are scheduled to increase on April 1, and registrants before September 1 are guaranteed a t-shirt; sizes after that date are on a first-come, first-served basis.
