Event Overview
The Nantucket ShamRock Run is an annual athletic event held on Nantucket, Massachusetts. The 14th edition of this gathering takes place at the Cisco Brewery parking lot located at 5 Bartlett Farm Road. The event serves as a fundraiser for Nantucket Island Safe Harbor for Animals (NISHA), with residual funds following race expenses donated to the organization.
Race Categories
The event features multiple participation options for different age groups and interests:
- 4 Miles: This distance is open to runners and walkers of all calibers.
- 4 Miles (Student Athletes): A category designated for participants aged 18 years or younger.
- Little Leprechaun Leaps: Specialized short distances for children.
The children's activities are divided into two categories based on age: one for those 18 months to 4 years old, and another for children 5 to 10 years old. These youth events are free of charge with a signed parental waiver.
Participation Details
The course is open to a variety of participants, including runners, walkers, and individuals with strollers. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are also permitted on the course. Participants are encouraged to wear festive attire. The event includes music and food at the brewery following the completion of the distances. Bib and swag pickup is organized at the Haulover on the day prior to the race and at the brewery parking lot on the morning of the event.
