Runnin' for a Cause, Not from the Cops
The Nantucket Police Charitable Association organizes a 5K run/walk event on May 16, 2027, at the Surfside Beach Parking Lot, 4 Western Ave, Nantucket, MA 02554. The event includes an on-site 5K and a virtual 5K run/walk option. Registration opens January 1, 2027 and closes May 10, 2027. The registration fee for each entry is $40.00.
Proceeds from the event are directed to local initiatives on Nantucket. Past uses of funds include scholarships for graduating high school seniors and alumni, an annual Children’s Christmas Party, the Pink Patch project supporting the Marla Ceely Lamb fund, youth programs, and other community based organizations.
Bib pick up is available at the Police Department on Saturday, May 15 and on the day of the event at a designated location. The organizer notes opportunities for runners, walkers, and volunteers to participate in support of community programs.
