Nail the Rail Half Marathon, 10K & 5K takes place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, in Shasta Lake, California. The field is limited to 350 participants. Distances offered:

Course and awards
The course uses the Sacramento Rail Trail, a converted Southern Pacific Railroad track that starts at the base of Shasta Dam and runs for over 11 miles. The route follows the Sacramento River and Keswick Lake and is described as very flat. Start and finish are at the Chappie OHV area at the base of Shasta Dam; after crossing Shasta Dam the course follows the road down to the OHV area. The half marathon has a cutoff time of 3 hours 30 minutes. Finisher awards are given to half marathoners, with age-group awards three deep plus overall awards.
Registration and packet pickup
Race day registration and packet pickup open at the OHV area at 7:00. Packet pickup and registration are also available on the Friday before the race from 11:00 to 15:00 at Redding Fleet Feet Store, 1376 Hilltop Dr. Additional event details are available from the race organizers.
