Event Overview
The Myrtle Mile is a running event taking place at Grand Lake at Market Commons in Myrtle Beach. The race site is located at Forbus Ct, with packet pick-up held at Shelter A and the race start and finish line situated at Shelter B.
Participants can choose from several categories based on age and competition level:
- 1 Mile Competitive Adult (ages 14 and up)
- 1 Mile Competitive Children (ages 13 and under)
- 1 Mile Fun Run Adult (ages 14 and up)
- 1 Mile Fun Run Children (ages 13 and under)
The fun run and walk category is stroller friendly, and children aged 3 and under can participate for free. Registered runners receive a t-shirt if they complete their registration by September 30, and post-race refreshments are provided at the event. An awards ceremony is held specifically for the competitive heats.
Proceeds from the event benefit Ryzon Refuge, a nonprofit organization serving Horry County. The organization supports mothers and children experiencing homelessness by building a community of tiny homes made from refurbished shipping containers and a community center for education and fellowship.
