Myrtle Mile
Myrtle Mile is a one mile running event on October 17, 2026, at Grand Lake at Market Common, Forbus Ct Shelter A, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. The program includes competitive and fun heats for two age groups: adults (14 and up) and children (13 and under). Registration opens March 11, 2026, and closes October 17, 2026. Registration fees are $30 for adults and $20 for children for both competitive and fun events.
Packet pick-up takes place on the morning of the event at Shelter A, and the course starts and finishes near Shelter A. All registered participants receive a t-shirt if registered by September 30, and post-race refreshments are provided. An awards ceremony is held for the competitive heat; recipients must be present to receive awards. Overall male and overall female winners receive Brooks running shoes provided by Black Dog Running Company.
The event is stroller friendly. Children age 3 and under may participate without registering, though registration is optional for those who want a race bib. All proceeds from Myrtle Mile directly benefit Ryzon Refuge, a faith based nonprofit serving Horry County that supports mothers and children experiencing homelessness. Ryzon Refuge operates the Ryzon Redeemery thrift store at 1514 Bus US 17 North, Surfside Beach SC 29575 and uses proceeds to fund a housing program that aims to provide tiny homes with full kitchens and bathrooms for single mothers and their children.
