My Name'5 Doddie Charity Race - 5K, 10K and Kids 1K
This event is a charity running day held in Edinburgh on the wide, flat tarmac paths of Gypsy Brae Recreation Ground and the Silverknowes Promenade. Distances on offer include a short fun run for children and two measured road race distances for older participants.
Distances:
- Kids 1K Fun Run 1 kilometre, all ages welcome
- 5K 5 kilometres, minimum age 11
- 10K 10 kilometres, minimum age 15
All finishers receive a medal. There are post-run snacks and drinks available. Prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers in both the 5K and the 10K. The event is organised by Blast Running and supports fundraising for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation and for Cramond Primary School; in the previous year the event raised £1,000 for the foundation and £500 for the school’s playground refurbishment.
Entry fees are published for each distance and include different rates for members and non-members; a small insurance levy applies for non-Scottish Athletics members and is passed to Scottish Athletics.
